SATURDAY

8 am - 9:30 am via Zoom meeting.  No preparation necessary.  User friendly study of the readings and Gospel for each Sunday.  Open to men who would like to enrich their Faith.

MISSION:

Fishers of Men equips men of all ages to be committed disciples of Jesus Christ and better husbands, fathers and men in their local community.

 

PURPOSE

Developing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ where He is the center of all we do. Equipping men with a spiritual confidence and initiative to continue to grow in Christ daily.

 

CHURCH COMMUNITY

Creating environment of encouragement, support, love and acceptance where men learn to value others. Supporting each other as we all become the men God is calling us to be in all aspects of life.

You are acknowledging that you have read the RE Family Handbook and Fliers and understand and agree to all policies and procedures. This also includes the Diocese of Joliet Practical Advice for Parents On Preventing Child Sexual Abuse; Parent Guide: Internet Safety for Children and Teens; Sexuality, Chastity and our Youth: A Challenge for Parents Today; and Understanding and Preventing Child Sexual Abuse.

SESSION REQUEST (SECTION C)

Session requests are filled first come, first serve and based on availability.

Attendance to both Mass and RE classes are very important. Please be mindful of future commitments when selecting your class time so that sports and other activities do not conflict. Inconsistent attendance will put your child's grade-level in doubt.

For grades 1-6 please indicate your 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice for session times.

Session A (Gr. 1-6) Wednesday 4:00 p.m. - 5:15 p.m.
Session B (Gr. 1-6) Wednesday 6:00 p.m. - 7:15 p.m.
Session C (Gr. 1-6) Thursday 5:00 p.m. - 6:15 p.m.

Confirmation Preparation (Gr. 7-8) Sunday 10:00 a.m. Mass - 1:00 p.m.
For grades 7-8 please indicate either Year I (7th) or Year II (8th)

(For Confirmation Prep students: The Diocese has a strict no more than three(3) absences per year policy, so please make every effort to attend class. Otherwise, your child's grade-level completion will be in doubt and can jeopardize your child's ability to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation with their classmates.)

PARENT VOLUNTEER SIGN UP (SECTION H)

It's hard to come forward the first time. Don't be intimidated because no one knows it all. There is very little training and you already have all the skills you need. This is a good place to meet other parents. Check out the job descriptions and sign up below. Maybe there's a spot waiting for you!

ALL ADULTS INVOLVED IN OUR PROGRAM MUST:
*UNDERGO A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK,
*MAKE A VIRTUS ACCOUNT AND COMPLETE ON-LINE TRAINING,
*CONTINUE PGC TRAINING ON-LINE MONTHLY THROUGH VIRTUS,
*OBTAIN 6 HOURS OF FORMATION TRAINING.

All volunteers have certain expectations:
1. Consistent and reliable attendance at your session.
2. Participate at weekly Mass.
3. Arrive 10 minutes prior to session time and stay 15 minutes after to clean up.

PARENT VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

Catechist:
1. Advance preparation of lesson plans
2. Help children learn assigned prayers while participating in prayer time
3. Help maintain good learning environment
4. Other projects assigned by the DRE

Catechist Aide:
1. Assist the Catechist.
2. Participate in prayer time
3. Step in for a catechist in an emergency
4. Other projects assigned by the DRE

(Catechist and Aide can work together to advance the preparation of lesson plans.)

Hall Monitor Expectations:
1. Monitor children by the doors during drop off and pick up.
2. Monitor children in hallways and bathrooms.
3. Assist catechist with a variety of tasks.
4. Stay until last child is picked up.
5. Available to substitute in the event of a catechist absence.
6. Any and other tasks assigned by the DRE.

Fundraising Team:
(Designed for volunteers who desire a tuition discount by cannot commit to the regular RE weekly schedule.)
* Work with a group to plan, organize, and execute fundraising events to supplement RE program monetary needs, i.e. sell raffle tickets after Masses, request donations from local business, market event, provide set up and take down, work the event, etc.


YEAR I (7TH GRADE) & YEAR II (8TH GRADE) STUDENTS ONLY must also submit the following paper work WITH registration and payment
