SNOW REMOVAL

Clear snow and ice from the entrances to the church.  Volunteers snow shovelers and at least on partner are assigned one day of the week.

If we have a HEAVY snow and you have time, even though not scheduled, consider calling the CAPTAIN and volunteering to help.

• Captain is responsible to watch weather and call his team members, arranging a time to meet and work together to remove snow & Ice.
• Co-Captain takes over if captain will be absent.
• Sunday - walks must be clean by 7:30 AM
• Saturday - walks must be clean by 3:00 PM
• On weekdays - clean Father John's walk at the south west door and the side entrance on the WEST side first (by 7:30) The rest can be cleared later.
• In case of deep snow, the emergency exits on the north side of the church and south and west sides of the hall must be clean enough to open the doors and to exit the building.
• In case of funerals - or other specially scheduled activities - Jill will call Team Captain or Co-Captain a day or two before so you can schedule your workers.
• AS ALWAYS - TRADE AS REQUIRED BY YOUR SCHEDULE - JUST KEEP YOUR CAPTAIN INFORMED.
• If you have a scheduling conflict, email the entire team asking for a volunteer.
• We are NOT responsible for the parking lot - just the sidewalks.
• We have two shovels and a salt spreader and bags of salt at each entrance. When necessary spread salt - we do not want people slipping on the ice.  There is more salt in the garage.
• We have two snow blowers so shoveling should be minimal.
• For very light powdery snow - the leaf blower works very good. Try it, you might like it!
